On our dude ranch trip, arrive at the ranch and enjoy lunch in our historic lodge. Then meet your horse, learn how to saddle, take a short ride to get to know your horse and get used to Western riding. Then review the trip itinerary with your guides.
Over the next few days, build up your riding and wilderness skills as you enjoy gradually longer and more challenging rides. Learn about local flora and fuana on the trail. Get involved in the ranch lifestyle such as horse care, or helping out with other ranch chores. Get involved in conservation projects at the ranch and along the trail.
On your final full day put all of your new skills to the test as you ride through Douglas fir forest to the alpine wildflower meadows above tree line and to the mountain tops.
On your final morning, learn how to do bareback riding, archery and biathlon target shooting before lunch with a final review of the week’s adventure.
