In July of this year, my 9 year old granddaughter and I spent four days at Chilcotin Holidays to experience the beauty of the high country in the South Chilcotin of British Columbia.  We arrived full of anticipation after many months of dreaming about this opportunity.  On the first day, after getting to know our horses and preparing for the trip, some doubts began to set in as to whether or not an aging grandfather and his 9 year old charge could handle the rigours of the trip.  In light of this, the staff and owner Kevan met to work out a plan that would address all the concerns.  This included Kevan spending an hour with my granddaughter working with a different horse he had in mind to better suit the rider.  The special attention given to us made all the difference and off we went.  The trip more than met our expectations.  The high alpine was breath taking and the weather was fantastic.  The highlight of our trip was coming within 150 yards of a herd of Mountain Goats!  Thank you to the guides and Kevan for helping make sure that the trip was a complete success for us.  We have life time memories that mean so much to my granddaughter and I.  Best wishes to all the staff at Chilcotin Holidays and hope to enjoy your hospitality and your wilderness backyard again!
