On your ranch based cougar wildlife tracking trip, arrive at the ranch and enjoy lunch in our historic lodge. Then ride out in the truck to look for cougar, prepare for the rest of the trip and review the trip itinerary with your guides.

Next morning ride out again in the wildlife tracking truck or by snowmobile, scouting for cougar at prime spots along the way. Find fresh cougar tracks in the snow and follow them to hone your tracking skills.

Early morning and evening are the best times to see wildlife so head out at sunrise and sunset to scout for cougars, with the opportunity to also see California Bighorn sheep, mountain goats, mule deer, moose and other animals in their natural habitat.

Learn how to tell the size of cougars from their tracks and their habitats and behaviours. Record every animal you see in our wildlife sightings form to contribute to habitat and population management. Remove invasive species and collect data along the way such as grizzly hair from rub trees for DNA analysis.
