Google Trekker Hiking Expedition

Google Trekker captured the majesty of McGillivray Pass with its cameras.

Now it’s time for you to capture the experience in your heart.

In summer of 2016, Destination BC and Google joined forces to share the rugged beauty of McGillivray Pass with the world. Through a backpack-mounted camera, the Google Trekker team captured 360 degree views of this stunning BC wilderness. Now Street View on Google Maps allows people across the globe to virtually traverse this stunning mountain pass.

And now, we’re inviting you to step beyond the screen into your own adventure. Feel every moment and every thrill as you create your own share-worthy moments on our limited-booking expedition through McGillivray Pass. Journey through tranquil alpine meadows, where fields of wildflowers seem to reach the distant horizon. Conquer challenging climbs as you explore the high mountain valley and trek through breath-taking mountain ranges.

Along the way, we’ll take lead you along mountain ridges where you can see and experience for yourself the awe-inspiring landscapes featured on Google Trekker. With 360 degree views from these lofty viewing locations, you’ll likely spot some locals. Mountain goats, grizzly bears, mule deer, and moose all make their home in McGillivray Pass. Observing these creatures as they traverse their wild, expansive habitat and act on every instinct somehow breathes new life into our spirits and makes our hearts beat a little faster.

And those are the experiences and the moments that we can’t wait to share with you. As we journey together through this untouched wilderness, we believe you too will discover that nature is more than what you see; it’s what you feel. It’s the endless blue skies and far-reaching horizons that draw out your own boundless potential. It’s the quiet moments and peace-filled pathways that allow you to hear what the chaos and noise of city-life have muffled for far too long. It’s the chance to step into your own adventure, both in this hiking expedition and in your everyday life.
